A surprising twist has emerged from the highly-publicized case of Sean “Diddy” Combs following his arrest.
The hip-hop mogul is considered to be a music pioneer as he helped revolutionize the genre, becoming one of the most famous people on the planet in the process. However, he’s now fighting for his freedom following an indictment on criminal sex trafficking, among other serious charges.

It’s believed that the authorities have a very strong case against Diddy, which could be true, given that one of his lawyers has suddenly quit his defense team.
According to a report from the New York Post, Anthony Ricco filed a motion to withdraw as an attorney for the disgraced rapper. He refused to reveal why but made it clear that he could not continue to serve as a lawyer for Combs any longer.
“Under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs,” he wrote in an affidavit, per the Post. “It is respectfully but regrettably requested that the court grant the relief requested.”

Ricco noted that he could not share his reason for leaving the team because he didn’t want to disclose anything protected by attorney-client privilege.
Ricco was one of six lawyers hired to assist the 55-year-old in his defense, but it’s clear that he wants nothing to do with the case right now. Even so, he will not be taken off until a judge approves of it.
The attorney came to the decision after a conversation with the rapper’s lead counsel, Marc Agnifilo. He told a judge “there are sufficient reasons” for him to withdraw.
Meanwhile, Combs is set to begin trial on May 5. If found guilty of the most serious charge, he could face life imprisonment.
