On Thursday, Kash Patel was officially confirmed as the new FBI Director by a 51-49 vote in the Senate. Patel succeeds Christopher A. Wray, who stepped down after Joe Biden’s presidency.
Well, let’s just say that Patel should get into the habit of double-checking anything he writes on social media. As several internet detectives pointed out, Patel’s FBI Director X bio reads, “Ninth Director of the Federal of Bureau of Investigation. Kash Patel’s Confirmation As FBI Director Raises Controversy
Donald Trump’s decision to nominate Patel as the new FBI Director has received widespread criticism and controversy for various reasons.
A renowned Trump loyalist, Patel was an outspoken critic of the FBI and CIA. He has spread a wide range of conspiracy theories and misinformation about Russia’s interference in the 2016 United States presidential election.
Kash Patel promised to come after journalists well before he was voted in as the new FBI Director. He falsely stated that the bureau had planned the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attacks a year in advance.
