Mattress Mack owns the Gallery Furniture in Houston, but is mainly known as the Houston Astros superfan who places significant bets worth tens of millions of dollars. In 2022, he won a whopping $75 million payout from Caesars after his beloved Astros defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series.
The 151st Kentucky Derby was held on Saturday, and the social media team for the Bleacher Report betting page kindly reminded everyone of another viral moment involving McIngvale at the 2022 Kentucky Derby.
During the 2022 event, a fan named “Monica” introduced herself to Mattress Mack to write down her phone number. Mack faced the camera and claims he told her, “Honey, I’m past my prime.”
Mack has actually been happily married to his second wife, Linda, since 1981. He was previously married to American Olympic diver Cynthia Potter from 1975 to ’78. Mack and Linda have four children.
The 2025 Kentucky Derby event was won by Sovereignty, a three-year-old horse owned by Godolphin. With the victory, Sovereignty claimed the special grand prize of $3.1 million.
