President Donald Trump has been on an executive order signing spree since being sworn into office in January.
His latest executive order is sure to turn heads.
On Tuesday, President Donald Trump signed an executive action to overhaul elections in the U.S., including requiring documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections and demanding that all ballots be received by Election Day.
The order says the U.S. has failed “to enforce basic and necessary election protections” and calls on states to work with federal agencies to share voter lists and prosecute election crimes, per the AP.
The order says the actions are designed to prevent noncitizens from voting. However, there is no evidence that they do so in significant numbers in the United States.
Voting as a noncitizen is a serious crime.

Donald Trump has long railed against noncitizen voting as part of his unfounded election fraud claims when he lost to Joe Biden in 2020.
People reacted to the news on social media.
“It’s such a nonissue I can’t even believe the waste,” one person said on Instagram.
“I’m sure conservative migrants are going to hate this,” a second person added.
“I thought this was already in place. So to vote from now on should I bring my enhanced Id passport birth certificate social security card, w2 forms of the last three years and what else …. I think it’s good but a lot of paper work. I feel bad for old people who will struggle to get their birth certificates,” another person said of Donald Trump signing the new executive order.
“Common sense 👏,” a fourth person commented.
“They only win when they try to make it harder to vote,” one person wrote.
“This is designed to end mail in voting, a lifeline to voting for our military, the elderly, the disabled, and those whose work schedules wont allow in person voting,” another person added.
One last person summed it up: “You should always need an ID to vote. I don’t know why this is so controversial. It’s such an important thing for Americans to do. I need my ID to deposit money in my bank, which is stupid but not to vote next no sense.”
Donald Trump To Sign Executive Order Making English the Official Language Of The United States

Earlier this month, President Trump signed an executive order designating English as the official language of the U.S., the first such designation in the country’s history.
The order rescinded a policy issued by former President Bill Clinton requiring agencies to provide assistance programs for people with limited English proficiency.
Roughly one in 10 people now speak a language other than English.
