President Donald Trump made headlines on Tuesday by purchasing a Tesla at the White House. Despite relying on official drivers, he personally selected the vehicle, making an official statement of support for Tesla and its CEO, Elon Musk. The high-profile purchase comes as Tesla faces political and financial pressure, and Trump’s decision signals confidence in the American automaker.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the purchase and announced the car’s arrival at the White House. “A Tesla is on its way here now, and we’ll see if the president likes it when he checks it out,” she said. After inspecting it, Trump decided to buy the vehicle, reinforcing his endorsement of Musk and his company.
Donald Trump’s Confidence In Tesla

Trump defended Tesla and Musk on Monday night, taking to Truth Social to denounce politically motivated opposition.
“To Republicans, Conservatives, and all great Americans, Elon Musk is ‘putting it on the line’ in order to help our Nation, and he is doing a FANTASTIC JOB!” Trump wrote. He criticized a “Radical Left Lunatic” boycott targeting Tesla and Musk, comparing it to the political attacks he has faced.
“In any event, I’m going to buy a brand new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American,” he declared.
Although Donald Trump cannot drive his new Tesla due to Secret Service protocols, he still misses the experience. “The president often says he misses driving his car, even though The Beast is nice,” Leavitt said, referring to the armored presidential limousine.
