Indian travel agents are seeing increased demand for seat 11A after Vishwash Kumar Ramesh was the only person to survive an Air India plane crash earlier this month.
On June 12, a London-bound plane crashed shortly after taking off in Ahmedabad, India. The incident killed 241 passengers and crew, but one man on board survived just because of where he was seated.
40-year-old Ramesh, who sat in the emergency exit row, walked away from the wreckage with only relatively minor injuries. However, his brother, who sat next to him, died in the crash.
Now, other travelers are requesting to sit in the very same seat to mirror Ramesh’s luck.
Footage from a recent Air India flight proves as much after many passengers aboard began arguing about the seat.
One irate lady even smacked the arm of a man seated in the coveted exit row chair. In the end, it does not appear that the man moved from his lucky seat.

Passengers Willing To Spend Big For Exit Row Seat After Air India Flight Crash

Demand for the “lucky” seat 11A has surged ever since one man miraculously survived last week’s Air India crash.
“It has to be a seat next to the emergency exit. I am willing to fork out any extra amount for it,” businessman Jitender Singh Bagga told the Times of India.
“If seat 11A is next to the emergency door of the British Airways flight I intend to take … I want to be in it,” he added.
“I know that life and death is a matter of destiny, but I still want to have my best shot. Nothing like seat 11A if there is an emergency exit next to it,” Kolkata resident Rajesh Bhagnani added.
According to travel agents, some passengers are opting for seat 11A even if it isn’t next to an emergency exit, believing it to be lucky.
