
A new video shows the terrifying speed at which the waters rose during the Texas floods this weekend.
While the rest of the nation celebrated Independence Day, Texas was devastated by flash flooding, with Kerr County experiencing disaster as the Guadalupe River broke its banks within minutes.
A time-lapse video posted to social media reveals just how quickly it all happened, showing a clear path turning into a swamp in just seven minutes. The entire area was submerged under deep water in under an hour.

Several Dead And Many Missing After Texas Floods

According to reports from NBC News, at least 51 people, 15 children included, have died, while rescue teams were working to find over 20 girls who were part of a group of 750 attending a summer camp outside of Kerrville.

The camp lost power and WiFi during the flood, and Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick suggested that they weren’t necessarily lost but could have simply been out of the range of communication.
Kerr County Judge Rob Kelly was among those wondering how such a disaster could have happened so quickly and without warning. He admitted that a disaster of such magnitude was unforeseen.
