It was supposed to be just another chill ride on a golf cart. But in a blink, a Florida teen’s world turned upside down, literally.
On Monday, a 15-year-old girl suffered traumatic injuries after being thrown from a moving golf cart in Anna Maria, according to AMI Sun. The accident happened near the intersection of North Shore Drive and Spring Avenue. Witnesses say it all happened so fast. One second, everything was fine. The next, emergency crews were scrambling to save a young life.
West Manatee Fire Rescue found the teen lying on her side in front of the cart. She was alert but clearly in distress. Her breathing was labored, and she was spitting up blood. First responders quickly stabilized her on a backboard and got her ready for the chopper to Tampa General Hospital.
She Fell Out Mid-Turn, Golf Cart Driver Says
The driver of the golf cart told investigators she had been going just 5 to 10 miles per hour. When she turned, her friend suddenly rolled out. The report noted no visible damage to the cart.
“The patient was a 15-year-old female. She was initially alert to person, place and event,” the report said, “but she did not have a patent airway.”
Rescue workers moved fast. They started an IV, prepared for intubation, and sedated the teen. After stabilizing her, they transferred her to a waiting Aeromed helicopter at City Field in Holmes Beach. She was then flown to Tampa General for emergency care.

The full extent of her injuries hasn’t been officially shared, but reports confirm she suffered serious trauma to the head and chest.
And this isn’t an isolated case. Just days earlier, a 39-year-old woman died in a separate golf cart crash in Westmoreland County, as reported by TribLive. She suffered blunt head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.
For now, all eyes are on the 15-year-old’s recovery. Her condition remains unclear, but the community is holding its breath, hoping for good news.
