Bryson DeChambeau has dropped a major update on his future with LIV Golf ahead of the 2025 U.S. Open.
In 2022, “The Scientist” signed a multi-year deal with LIV Golf reportedly worth over $100 million. Bryson DeChambeau was one of the tour’s first major signings, along with six-time major winner Phil Mickelson, who reportedly signed a deal worth $200 million.
Though DeChambeau is eligible to compete in all four majors (U.S. Open, The Open, The Masters and the PGA Championship), some have wondered if he’ll leave LIV Golf and take his talents back to the PGA Tour.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Bryson DeChambeau revealed that his LIV Golf contract expires next year. However, the 2020 and 2024 U.S. Open winner expressed optimism that the two sides will get a new deal done, per Mark Cannizzaro of the New York Post:
“We’re looking to negotiate end of this year, and I’m very excited,” DeChambeau. They see the value in me. I see the value in what they can provide, and I believe we’ll come to some sort of resolution on that. I’m super excited for the future. I think that LIV is not going anywhere.”
Whether everybody believes in it or not, I think it’s a viable commercial option. We’re starting to grow and move in the right direction, just like TGL. TGL has done a great job. They’ve got some teams that are making some money, and I believe there is a sustainable model out there.”
LIV Golf also picked up other marquee PGA Tour talents like Jon Rahm (on a deal reportedly worth over $300 million), Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia, Martin Kaymer, Brooks Koepka, Patrick Reed and Cameron Smith.

In 2022, LIV GOLF CEO Greg Norman reported that Tiger Woods rejected an offer between $700 million and $800 million to join their tour. Five-time major winner and 2025 Masters winner Rory McIlroy has been critical about LIV Golf and the players who left the PGA Tour to sign there.
Bryson DeChambeau Aims For Third 2025 U.S. Open Title

The 31-year-old Bryson DeChambeau finished in a tie for fifth at this year’s Masters and in a tie for second at last month’s PGA Championship (won by Scottie Scheffler). We’ll see if he’ll finally pick up major victory No. 3 this weekend.
If DeChambeau emerges victorious at the Oakmont Country Club, he’ll be the seventh golfer to win the U.S Open at least seven times. Willie Anderson, Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus and Ben Hogan each won it four times, with Tiger Woods and Hale Irwin both winning thrice.
