After Rory McIlroy’s historic Masters win and completion of his career Grand Slam, CBS Sports’ Amanda Balionis was unable to interview the PGA Tour star; Jim Nantz interviewed him instead.
McIlroy won his first Masters after more than a decade of misfortune, but Balionis was nowhere to be found after the moment.
The CBS Sports reporter is tasked with speaking to players after their rounds and spoke to both McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau after their heroics on Saturday, which put them at the top of the leaderboard.
DeChambeau again spoke to Balionis after his day had concluded, and she also spoke with Justin Rose after losing a playoff against McIlroy.
However, after the win, the 35-year-old did not speak to Balionis, instead joining Jim Nantz.
The reporter would soon get her chance.
Amanda Balionis took to her Instagram and posted a single picture showing her and McIlroy seated for a one-on-one interview.

“It took 17 Masters starts, 11 years of attempting to complete the career Grand Slam and 73 this week but Rory McIlroy has his Green Jacket and has solidified his legacy alongside Tiger, Jack, Gary, Hogan and Sarazen. What a week and a battle down to the very end,” she wrote in her caption.
The Rumor Between Amanda Balionis And Rory McIlroy

CBS Sports reporter Amanda Balionis hailed Rory McIlroy’s ‘legacy’ achievement after he became only the sixth man to complete the sweep of golf’s four major honors.
A lot has been said about them.
Her comments come just months after rumors suggested that she and McIlroy had been having some form of a relationship while both married to other people.
The 39-year-old presenter married former North Carolina and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Bryn Renner in 2022 but has been seen without her wedding ring. She is reportedly divorced now.
Northern Irish golfer Rory McIlroy filed for divorce from his wife, Erica Stoll, in 2024. However, he eventually worked things out, and they are still happily married.
None of these rumors have been proven, and neither Balionis nor McIlroy have addressed them outright.
