Golf fans are praising the legendary Phil Mickelson for a heartwarming gesture during the 2025 U.S. Open.
The 54-year-old Phil Mickelson missed the cut at the 2025 U.S. Open, finishing with a score of eight-over. Mickelson, a six-time major winner, has never won the U.S. Open and remains one tournament short of completing the golf major.
Mickelson shot 74 in each of his two rounds at the U.S. Open, which is taking place at the Oakmont Country Club in Plum, Pennsylvania. 28-year-old Sam Burns leads the field at four-under, one shot ahead of Adam Scott and J.J. Spaun.
Though it was obviously a frustrating weekend for “Lefty”, he took some time to show his appreciation for the officers who walked with him at Oakmont. Cameras showed Mickelson handing out gifts to them in the parking lot before he left the club:
A true class act. 👏

“He’s always been this way. He’s always been gracious and thankful to the support staff and these events. I drive workers during The Masters and every year, I hear from the staff that works the Champions Dinner, and they all say the same thing. Phil treats us with respect,” said a fan.
