The 2025 Masters is delivering the drama fans live for, but if you’re watching from your couch, chances are you’re missing a lot of it. Bryson DeChambeau is making a serious run at the green jacket, but good luck catching his shots on TV.
Instead, fans are getting a steady stream of the same featured groups, while one of the tournament’s hottest players barely makes an appearance. Naturally, people are fed up. Social media lit up as frustrated viewers called out ESPN for dropping the ball on coverage, especially when the action on the course is this good.
Fans Sound Off As DeChambeau Gets Snubbed

Justin Rose entered Friday with the solo lead, and ESPN ensured viewers saw every step he took. The same applied to Max Homa, J.J. Spaun, and Rory McIlroy, whose group continued to dominate screen time. But with DeChambeau surging and fans eager to see his form, the lack of live coverage sparked immediate backlash.
“Hey ESPN…why are you not showing Bryson DeChambeau? I was expecting better coverage. I mean this is the Masters,” one frustrated viewer posted on X.

The discontent wasn’t isolated. Across social media, fans questioned the decision to air documentaries and pre-recorded segments instead of the actual competition. “There are not any CBB games, there’s not NBA or NHL games on. No person wants to watch a documentary on Arnold Palmer. Show the players. Everyone is sick of Rory. Show Bryson,” one user wrote.
I’m a huge fan of the Masters but the coverage on Thursday and Friday is a fucking joke. There are not any CBB games, there’s not NBA or NHL games on. No person wants to watch a documentary on Arnold Palmer. Show the players. Everyone is sick of Rory. Show Bryson

Even those used to limited weekday coverage felt this year’s approach crossed a line.
“Why is it so hard to watch LIVE Masters coverage? Imagine if you could only watch the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl live,” another user commented.

ESPN plans to expand its national second-round coverage starting at 3 p.m. ET. Still, for many viewers, that feels too little, too late. Saturday’s third round will begin on Paramount+ before CBS picks up the coverage at 2 p.m. ET.
For a tournament as iconic as the Masters, fans expect wall-to-wall access. So far, the broadcasts haven’t met that bar, and viewers aren’t keeping quiet about it.
