Golf fans are discovering a new kind of major perk at this week’s PGA Championship: free food. And not just a snack here or there, we’re talking all-you-can-eat concessions, covered by the cost of admission.
At the 107th PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club, every ticket is a Championship+ ticket. That means every fan can access unlimited food and non-alcoholic drinks throughout the course. The concept may sound too good, especially when you’ve stood in line for $10 hot dogs at other sporting events. But here, it’s real, and fans are digging in.
Free Food, But Not Exactly Cheap

Michael Petereit, chowing down on a grilled chicken sandwich while eyeing his next Italian sausage, couldn’t believe the setup. “It’s frickin’ amazing,” he said between bites. His friend Todd Hoy, however, gave it some perspective: “Free deserves an asterisk,” he said, pointing to the ticket price, $130 for a Wednesday practice round, rising to $253 on Thursday and $301 for Sunday.
Even with the cost, Hoy believes the system works. “It clears up lines and I haven’t talked to anyone who doesn’t like it,” he added. That kind of feedback is exactly what tournament organizers hoped for when they expanded the Championship+ model, which started in 2022, to every fan attending this year.
The PGA Championship is offering free concessions to everyone for the first time.

Jason Soucy, PGA Championship director, told the Charlotte Observer that the all-inclusive ticket offers “incredible value.” He compared it with the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2, where tickets started at $235 without any food included. “As a dad with two college-aged daughters hitting the concert circuit,” Soucy said, “I feel like this is hitting my bank account less than some of the things I’ve approved recently.”

While fans aren’t paying extra for food, alcohol still carries premium pricing. A Michelob Ultra Seltzer runs $12.50, a 16 oz. lager costs $14.50, and a specialty cocktail hits $18.50. Want a double? Add $6. Craving a souvenir cup? That’s another $5.
Still, there’s no better deal than the one for families. Kids 15 and under get in free with an adult, and they also eat and drink for free inside the gates. No fine print. No footnotes. Just a full plate and a great view.
