Golf legend Greg Norman was involved in a scary flying incident this week.
Norman, a two-time Open Championship winner and 20-time PGA Tour winner, was on a private flight from Los Angeles to Palm Beach on Friday when the aircraft’s windscreen shattered in midair, forcing the pilot to turn back.
“Inflight LAX -PBI loud pop = shattered windscreen,” the 70-year-old shared to Instagram. “Only the second time in 40yrs of private travel.
“Returned to LAX to the professionals to make sure all ok. Thanks all.”
Norman shared a photo of the cracked airplane windshield and posted an image of the fire trucks that arrived at the airport after the plane landed. Norman also posed with the firemen.
The incident took place two days after his wife Kirsten’s birthday.

Greg Norman Remains A Controversial Figure In The Golf Community

Norman, who hails from Australia, has been a controversial figure in the golf community over the last few years, given that he was the CEO of LIV Golf.
He was replaced by Scott O’Neil this year, but is still on the board of directors.
The World of Golf Hall of Famer played a crucial role in forming LIV Golf, getting several high-profile stars to quit the PGA Tour and join the Saudi-funded league.
In any case, we’re glad he’s okay.
