President Donald Trump has never been afraid to express his disapproval and discontent for other political figures and high-profile celebrities, but don’t expect him to go after Tiger Woods for beginning a romance with Vanessa Trump.
Earlier this week, multiple outlets reported that Tiger Woods and Vanessa Trump recently began a relationship. Vanessa was previously married to the president’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., from 2005 to 2018. They had five children together.
Though Woods has avoided discussing Trump as a president, it’s well-known that they’ve developed a strong friendship on the golf course. Woods is the biggest star in the sport’s history, and Trump owns nearly two dozen courses worldwide.
One could understand an awkward vibe and dynamic between Woods and Trump over the former dating his son’s ex-wife. But according to a report from Page Six, Trump approves of their romance.
“Trump knows about him dating Vanessa and is said to approve,” an insider told the outlet.

Additionally, another source told Page Six that Woods and Trump have a strong relationship, and that the 15-time major winner “privately” praises Trump:

“Trump and Tiger are tight, and Tiger got the medal of freedom from him in 2019. Tiger speaks privately about liking Trump, and what he’s done to promote golf.
Tiger was just at the White House during a Black History Month event. He wore his medal to the event. Insiders at Mar-A-Lago say that Trump has asked Tiger to play golf with him and Kai at his golf club in Florida.”
After his divorce, Donald Trump Jr. began a relationship with Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former San Francisco prosecutor who worked on Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign. The two became engaged later that year but ended their relationship late in 2024.
Woods was previously married to model Elin Nordegren, and they had two children together. Their divorce was finalized in 2010, months after Woods’ stunning cheating scandal came to light. He was also in a relationship with restaurant manager Erica Herman from 2017 to 2022.
Tiger Woods Is Recovering From Surgery On Ruptured Achilles
On Tuesday, the 49-year-old Woods announced through social media that he underwent surgery on a ruptured Achilles and will unfortunately have to miss the 2025 Masters tournament.
It’s unknown when Woods will be able to return, but it unfortunately means that his bid for a 16th major before his 50th birthday will have to wait.
