Paige Spiranac has never been shy about sharing her thoughts, but her latest revelation adds a new layer of honesty to the golf influencer’s growing media presence. During a recent episode of her new show, The SPINvitational, Spiranac got candid about her time at San Diego State University and a college crush that didn’t pan out.
“I did go to school at SDSU with Xander Schauffele and another fun fact is I had a crush on him and he wanted nothing to do with me,” the 32-year-old said during the live casino and slots broadcast.
“He met his wife Maya at SDSU, so it was meant to be. Didn’t work out for me in that way.”
Paige Spiranac Keeps It Real

Spiranac’s casual confession came during a segment where she spoke directly with her audience, blending gameplay with personal stories. Schauffele, now a top PGA Tour pro and Olympic gold medalist, met his wife Maya at SDSU back in 2014. The couple married in 2021 and have been together ever since.
While Spiranac laughed off the old crush, she also used the moment to address misconceptions about her dating life. “Never been on a date with anyone famous,” she said. “I’ve had pro athletes or famous people slide in my DMs. I’ve never dated anyone famous. It’s funny because I’ll see all these headlines.”
Rumors once swirled about Tom Brady and Bryson DeChambeau- all false, just friendly work connections. Being misunderstood hurt, especially when simple moments sparked wild headlines. The media often turned collaborations into love stories that never existed.

Spiranac also revealed a side of herself that fans rarely see. Though her online persona radiates confidence, she explained that real-life Paige feels very different. “I always say it’s my alter-ego,” she said. “I think that’s another misconception — that I’m outgoing and a party girl because of my image online, but I have severe social anxiety.”
The influencer, once married to athletic trainer Steven Tinoco, now keeps parts of her personal life private despite public attention. She confirmed in 2022 that her marriage ended but didn’t offer further details.
In a world where headlines often blur facts and assumptions, Spiranac’s openness on The SPINvitational gave fans a rare, unfiltered glimpse into her past and present mindset. Sometimes the truth is far simpler than the tabloids would have you believe.
