Morris, the beloved alligator who starred in Adam Sandler’s “Happy Gilmore” 1996 blockbuster film, has passed away.
The Colorado Gator Farm announced on their Facebook page that their beloved alligator recently passed away. His exact age isn’t clear, but they estimate that Morris was over 80 years of age.
According to the Facebook post, Morris worked in movies and television films from 1975 to 2006 before spending his last 19 years on the farm. Morris was measured at nine feet when he began acting 50 years ago, the Colorado Gator Farm reported.
CBS notes that Morris starred in other popular films like “Alligator”, “Alligator 2” and “Dr. Doolittle 2,” but the alligator may best be known for his role in the Happy Gilmore comedy film.
Sandler stars as the title character in Happy Gilmore. After a failed ice hockey career, he takes up golf under the guidance of former golf pro Chubbs Peterson, who had to retire from the sport after an alligator bit his hand off.
