Bryson DeChambeau had some weird comments about Rory McIlroy following the latter’s thrilling victory at the 2025 Masters.
The 35-year-old Rory McIlroy finally emerged victorious to win his first green jacket. McIlroy shot 11-under and defeated Justin Rose in the first playoff hole.
After Rory McIlroy’s Masters win, Bryson DeChambeau revealed that Rory gave him the silent treatment all day long. After falling to a tie for fifth, DeChambeau was asked if he’d spoken to McIlroy while signing their scorecards, and his response was blunt.
“No idea. Didn’t talk to me once all day,” he said.
He was then asked if he had attempted to initiate the conversation as the duo locked horns for a second time.
To which he replied: “He wouldn’t talk to me.”
It took Rory a month to finally speak about it, and he did not mince words when speaking to reporters.

Rory McIlroy Left Confused by Bryson DeChambeau’s Reaction at the Masters
Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau were paired together for the final round of the Masters last month.
After playing in the final pairing in The Masters on Sunday with McIlroy, DeChambeau said that the new Grand Slam winner “didn’t talk to me once all day.”
Ahead of the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow, McIlroy was asked about the situation at The Masters. He was puzzled as to why DeChambeau would be expecting anything else.
“I don’t know what he was expecting,” said McIlroy.

“Like, we’re trying to win the Masters. I’m not going to be his best mate out there.
“Everyone approaches the game in different ways. I was focused on myself and what I needed to do, and that’s really all that it was.
“It wasn’t anything against him, that’s just what I felt I needed to do to try and get the best out of myself on that day.”
Bryson would wait the until the next day to finally send a message to McIlroy after he won it all.
“It was a battle all week, and even without my best stuff, I proved to myself that I have the ability to win this tournament one day,” Bryson DeChambeau said.
“It’s tough, but moments like this have taught me a lot, and now I’m more motivated than ever to get back to work.”
“Thank you all for the unwavering support this week! We will be back,” he concluded. “Huge congratulations to Rory on an incredible achievement in completing the career Grand Slam of golf. He deserved to get this one.”
