Social media had all sorts of wild reactions over an incredible story involving Bryson DeChambeau before the final round of the 2025 Masters.
Heading into Sunday, DeChambeau was 10-under and two shots behind clubhouse leader Rory McIlroy (12-under). Both DeChambeau and McIlroy are aiming to win the green jacket for the first time.
During Sunday’s broadcast, CBS golf commentator and former PGA player Colt Knost told a fascinating story about how Bryson DeChambeau practiced his putting last night.
According to Knost, DeChambeau met some folks in the neighborhood of the house he was renting for the weekend. A group of golfers were putting on their backyard green, and DeChambeau came along to practice with them for an hour:.
That’s such a Bryson-story just told on the Masters coverage by @ColtKnost:

DeChambeau went for a walk last night around the neighborhood where he’s renting a house and found a group in their backyard with a putting green. He spent an hour with them putting. #Masters

Indeed, DeChambeau had a rough go on the front nine, opening the door for McIlroy to likely win his first green jacket. If he does so, McIlroy will become just the sixth golfer to obtain the grand slam (Masters, U.S. Open, The Open/British Open, and PGA Championship).
2025 Masters Looks LIke An Opportunity Lost For Bryson DeChambeau

The 31-year-old Bryson DeChambeau has hardly played his best golf at Augusta, never finishing better than a tie for sixth at the event (in 2024). DeChambeau had his opportunities to catch Rory after the latter’s early struggles on Sunday, but “The Scientist” made too many mistakes that will likely cost him the Green Jacket.
