Aaron Judge may be in the middle of another dominant season, but that hasn’t stopped him from keeping tabs on New York’s other team on fire, the Knicks. After Jalen Brunson’s standout performances in the NBA Playoffs, the Yankees slugger had nothing but praise for the $104 million point guard.
“It’s impressive,” Judge said of Brunson and the Knicks’ playoff surge. “Especially going up against Boston. They just won it. For [the Knicks] to have a two-game lead, it’s pretty impressive. They have been up, they have been down big, and they’ve come back with some great clutch plays.”
Judge, who will appear in the league’s anime universe, revealed that he has been watching the highlights whenever he can. Like many Knicks fans, he has noted Brunson’s ability to deliver when it matters most.
The New York Stars Are Having A Sensational Season

Judge and Brunson met last year when the Knicks guard threw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium. Since then, Judge says he’s come to appreciate Brunson’s approach to the game.
“He’s a quiet assassin,” Judge said. “He just goes about his business and delivers.”
Brunson has been electric for the Knicks during their playoff run, averaging over 29 points per game and making huge plays in crunch time. His leadership has sparked comparisons to Judge’s own role with the Yankees. Both are captains leading storied franchises back toward championship contention.

Judge, who currently leads MLB in home runs, batting average, and RBIs, knows what it means to carry a city’s expectations. And seeing Brunson do the same on the hardwood has clearly left a mark.
“It’s pretty impressive to see and fun to watch, especially in New York,” Judge said.
Two stars. Two teams. One New York. And plenty of respect between them.
