There’s nothing Aaron Judge can’t do.
After debuting for the New York Yankees in 2016, and almost a decade later, the superstar outfielder is ready for an Anime storyline.
Judge is stepping into an exciting new role as part of MLB’s anime-inspired “Heroes of the Game” series. It’s hard to believe that it’s been quite some time since he first touched down on a baseball field.
As the reigning AL MVP and a player who’s leading the league in key statistics this season, Judge fits perfectly into this fun and fresh portrayal.

The inspiration behind Judge’s anime debut ties into MLB’s “Baseball is Something Else” branding campaign. It is aimed at engaging younger audiences and showing off the excitement of the game.

Aaron Judge Keeps Shining As Bright Irrespective Of Yankees’ Ups And Downs

Aaron Judge is having an absolutely stunning start to the 2025 MLB season.
Even though the Yankees fell to the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 on Saturday, Judge shone bright. He went 2-for-4 at the plate and smashed a home run, bumping his batting average up to an incredible .432 after 33 games.
What’s even more exciting is that Judge could be on track to achieve something truly historic.
Chances are, he could be the first player since Ted Williams in 1941 to hit .400 for the season. His current average places him amongst the giants of the game, like Paul O’Neill and Stan Musial, in terms of the best starts over the last 80 years.
Highest batting average in team’s first 33 games, last 80 seasons (qualified based on current rules):

1994 Paul O’Neill: .473
1958 Stan Musial: .471
1959 Henry Aaron: .456
1950 Stan Musial: .448
1983 Rod Carew: .442
2023 Luis Arraez: .437
2025 Aaron Judge: .432 https://t.co/dZhGNdB6a8
With 11 home runs so far, Judge is feeling the heat in the league, sitting just behind Cal Raleigh of the Mariners, who has 12. It’s tough out there with the high-speed pitchers and their spin rates, but Judge is rising to the challenge in style.
Right now, the Yankees are 19-14 and sitting pretty at the top of the American League East. They’ll face off against the Rays again today at 1:35 p.m. ET, with Will Warren taking the mound. It’ll be exciting to see if Judge can keep this momentum going.
