Wednesday night at PNC Park was supposed to be about baseball. The Pittsburgh Pirates were hosting the Chicago Cubs, and veteran outfielder Andrew McCutchen delivered a clutch two-run double in the seventh inning that helped his team take a 4–3 lead.
But the mood at the ballpark quickly changed when a scary incident unfolded in right field. A fan fell around 21 feet from the top of the Roberto Clemente Wall onto the warning track during play, which led to a brief halt. Medical staff rushed to the scene, and after being treated on the field, the fan was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
