The Arizona Diamondbacks are sending one interesting name to the trading block. And from what we are listening, there are two rival teams up for the grab.
According to The Athletic’s MLB insider Jim Bowden, the All-Star Slugger, Josh Naylor will be on the move in the coming weeks.
“Arizona made a great trade in the offseason to land first baseman Josh Naylor. But if they pivot to selling, he will probably get dealt again given he’s in his free-agent walk year. Naylor, 27, would be an excellent fit for the Seattle Mariners or Cincinnati Reds,” Bowden reported.
MLB insider Jim Bowden says if the Diamondbacks sell before the July trade deadline, All-Star Josh Naylor could be on the move, with the Seattle Mariners and Cincinnati Reds as top fits👀.

The trade idea looks interesting given the Diamondbacks have had a tough start to their 2025 season. After posting a strong 89-win record last year, fans were hoping to see even more progress, especially since the team reached the World Series just two years ago.
Unfortunately, the Diamondbacks currently find themselves struggling in fourth place in the competitive NL West.
To make matters worse, their ace pitcher, Corbin Burnes, is dealing with a serious elbow injury. If he can’t get back on the mound and perform at his previous All-Star level, it’s likely that Arizona will shift gears.

And that way they might look to sell some players before the July 31 trade deadline.
Diamondbacks’ Josh Naylor Is Performing Well Despite Shoulder Issues

After the trade, the Diamondbacks first baseman has been having a pretty solid first season with his new club.
Before Thursday’s matchup against the Atlanta Braves, he was hitting .287 with seven homers and 37 RBIs. Even though he hadn’t hit in his last three games, fans were hopeful he’d find his rhythm again.
Josh Naylor exited the game for a pinch hitter. Manager Torey Lovullo said yesterday that Naylor had been playing through both shoulder and hand issues.

And he did just that. During the game, Naylor came through with a clutch two-run single in the fourth inning. He also brought Ketel Marte and Geraldo Perdomo home and cut the deficit to 6-3.
However, he had to be subbed out in the sixth for pinch-hitter Ildemaro Vargas. It turned out he was dealing with some shoulder and hand issues, which had been bothering him for a little while.
After Naylor’s exit, the team really turned things around and staged an incredible comeback to win 11-10, which is always exciting to see.
