Major League Baseball’s 2020 season will be delayed well past April 9th, commissioner Rob Manfred told Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on Monday.
Major League Baseball will delay the start of the 2020 season until at least mid May after the CDC recommendations that came out over the weekend.
Last week, the MLB canceled spring training and delayed the start of the season by at least two weeks. Of course, all of that has since changed.
“The Clubs remain committed to playing as many games as possible when the season begins. We will continue to monitor ongoing events and undertake the precautions and best practices recommended by public health experts, and urge all baseball fans to follow suit. MLB extends its best wishes to all the individuals and communities who have been impacted by the coronavirus,” the league said in a statement.WANT MORE FROM TOTALPROSPORTS? FOLLOW US ON GOOGLE NEWS.
