The Chicago Cubs are having a great run in the 2025 MLB season, and their dominant offense has played a vital role in their success. The team is leading the league in batting average and ranks third in home runs. They are also topping the charts in total runs scored by a wide margin.
The team’s ability to score in double digits has been particularly impressive. The offense has been a powerhouse, and they continue to dominate the NL Central. Recently, the team has been coming off an offensive surge after scoring 31 runs in the last four games.
Following their success, Chicago Cubs manager Craig Counsell sent a bold message to opponent teams.
“We’re a dangerous offense right now. What you always want is length, which is a lot of players that are capable of changing the game and doing something to help on a daily basis. I think that’s what we have. You can survive little two-week slumps and not really have them change anything, that’s gone on so far,” Craig Counsell said.
“We’ve got a lot of guys producing at a really good level, it’s tough to get through parts of our lineup for sure, and we’re making it tough in a lot of innings for teams. You’re going to get results eventually, with that,” Counsell continued.
“We’ve got a dangerous offense right now.”

The Chicago White Sox were the last team to average six runs per game in 2000. Previously, the Los Angeles Dodgers averaged six runs per game in 1953.

The last team to average 6 runs/game in a season was the 2000 White Sox.
The last NL team to average 6 runs/game in a season was the 1953 Dodgers.
The club could soon go down in history with its strong run. One of the primary reasons for its success was its strong offseason. The Chicago Cubs acquired Tucker, and players like Seiya Suzuki and Pete Crow-Armstrong have been incredible at the plate.
Craig Counsell was not the only one who shared a warning with opponent teams. Tucker dropped a strong six-word message after the team’s last success.
