Clayton Kershaw joined the Los Angeles Dodgers on their trip to Japan to face off against the Chicago Cubs. While Kershaw was not on the list to pitch, he still tagged along with the team to have an unforgettable memory.
The Dodgers re-signed the veteran pitcher despite his injury and struggles. The All-Star would have been ready to call it quits if he had never played for the Dodgers in 2025. The franchise has a strong bond with the pitcher, and he’s been a crucial part of their team for years.
Clayton Kershaw was eager to go to Japan and enjoy the experience alongside Shohei Ohtani. The pitcher jokingly mentioned that he mooched off the Dodgers despite staying out of both games.
“I’ve loved every second of it. You know, I kind of just mooched off the Dodgers to get a trip out of this because I’m not playing or anything, you know, so I wanted to experience this. I wanted to come with Shohei and see what it was all about. It’s been an incredible experience,” Kershaw said.
The pitcher was happy to join the team on their unforgettable journey. The long-time Dodgers star wanted to experience being around passionate fans in Japan.
“In Tokyo, I think just being around the people, and meeting everybody and seeing how passionate everybody is about the Dodgers and about baseball, it’s been really cool,” Kershaw continued.

Clayton Kershaw Looks For A Strong Rebound With Dodgers

The All-Star pitcher struggled with injuries and was forced to stay out for most of the 2024 season. Despite the challenges, he got back on the mound and pitched. However, he was a bit rusty as his numbers were not too great.
Kershaw finished with a 2-2 record and a 4.50 ERA. Sadly, it was the worst ERA in the history of his career. The All-Star will look for a strong rebound with his team this season. Dave Roberts will give him several opportunities to continue.
Clayton Kershaw will be a part of the team’s starting rotation this season. But they might take things a little slow. Meanwhile, fans are trolling Max Muncy for getting angry after a missed catch.
