Santana pitched in the bottom of the ninth inning, retiring the first batter before rain fell down and delayed the game. The Pirates scored four runs in the top half of the 10th to snap a four-game losing skid before they return home to begin a three-game weekend series with the Texas Rangers.
Pirates ace Paul Skenes delivered another excellent performance on the mound, going six innings strong with nine innings and just two earned runs. Skenes’ ERA now sits at a ridiculous 1.85 through 16 games.
