Corbin Burnes is not having the perfect start with the Arizona Diamondbacks this season. Burnes is off to a shaky start with a 0-1 record and a 5.28 ERA. It’s just a couple of outings, and Burnes will get back to his strong pitching soon.
The Diamondbacks star was one of the best pitchers in the league for the Orioles last season. After moving to Arizona, he’s yet to find his pace. The D’backs are one of the tough competitors in the NL West, but they seem to have taken a slow start as well.
In their last game against the Milwaukee Brewers, Corbin Burnes was unhappy with a couple of calls from home plate umpire Alfonzo Marquez. Burnes, who was trying to find his rhythm, was seen expressing his frustration at Marquez.
The All-Star pitcher told Marquez that he cost him twice. Burnes walked off the mound after his performance while staring at Marquez and shaking his head.
“You’ve costed me 2 already,” Corbin Burnes said.

While it’s unclear about the exact argument, it’s evident that Burnes was not so pleased with Marquez’s calls.

Corbin Burnes Records His First Quality Start For The Diamondbacks

Despite his shaky start, Burnes had a decent outing against the Brewers. Burners surrendered three earned runs, four hits, and two walks in six innings. He also struck out three but did not factor into the decision as Ryne Nelson came in to record a win.
Burnes had a rough second inning after surrendering a couple of runs. During the sixth inning, Jackson Chourio smashed a home run.
Arizona had a slim chance of winning the game as they trailed the Brewers by three runs in the ninth inning. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. was the player of the game after a walk-off sacrifice fly. The Diamondbacks are now 8-7 on the season and are sitting at the fourth spot in the NL West behind the Dodgers.
The D’backs will look forward to winning the series tomorrow before they take on the Miami Marlins at LoanDepot Park. Corbin Burnes will start against the Chicago Cubs in his next outing. Meanwhile, the Dodgers recorded their biggest loss at home and fans have expressed their frustration.
