Dave Roberts is keen on winning his second-straight World Series title with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Roberts has been the Dodgers’ manager for 10 years and has won two World Series titles in the last five years. The franchise recently extended Roberts’s contract, making him the highest-paid manager in the MLB.
Roberts loves his team, and he’s worked hard to bring in top stars over the years. He helped sign Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and several others. He’s worked with some of the top players in the league, including lifetime Dodger pitcher Clayton Kershaw.
Kershaw is undeniably one of the best pitchers in the league. He’s ready to cross a historic milestone before he retires, and Dave Roberts expects him to reach 3000 Ks. Roberts also said that Kershaw is the modern-day Sandy Koufax.
“Clayton adds, certainly a track record. He adds toughness. I was actually telling my wife last night, we were talking about Clayton pitching, and I was like, I just can’t wait to see him get back out on the mound and watch that compete, where every single throw is conviction,” Roberts said.
“Now he’s chasing 3,000. But when he gets out there, he’s just an absolute beast. And I do believe that he is the modern day Sandy Koufax, where there is no self-promotion. He doesn’t want any media. But obviously, being a great pitcher, first ballot Hall of Famer, he’s going to get it,” Dave Roberts continued.
Roberts’ words are certainly true since Kershaw is one of the best pitchers to play in the MLB. He’s been a humble star throughout his career, and he’s also a huge fan favorite.

Dave Roberts Reflects On Clayton Kershaw’s Bad Outing

The Dodgers dropped their last game, and Kershaw struggled against the Angels. The veteran pitcher surrendered five earned runs in just four innings pitched. He walked three and struck out two. It was a bad 2025 debut for the pitcher, but Roberts was still impressed.
“I think that the stuff overall I was impressed. I thought the velocity was more than it’s been in quite some time. At times, the slider was good there was some swing and miss early. The curveball was good he mixed in a lot of changeups,” Dave Roberts said via MLB.
Kershaw has 2970 strikeouts in his long career with the Dodgers. He’s just 30 strikeouts away from a historic milestone. The Dodgers remain on top in the Week 7 MLB rankings.
