Cameras caught a Detroit Tigers ground crew member at Comerica Park flipping the bird on live television after suffering a concerning injury.
The grounds crew worker suffered an undisclosed injury while the group raked the infield dirt at Comerica Park during Wednesday’s contest against the San Francisco Giants. The worker was seen holding his left leg as staffers and medical personnel had a look at him.
Understandably unhappy and frustrated, the worker caught the cameras filming him and decided to flip them off. San Francisco Giants commentator Dave Flemming stated, “You can’t do that” as the cameras cut away from the grounds crew worker:
A member of the Comerica Park grounds crew was hurt between innings.

A cart was brought out to take him off the field. No word on the injury the man suffered, but we hope it’s nothing serious and that he’ll be back on the Detroit Tigers’ field as soon as possible.
If the Tigers lose this game because of the delay caused by the groundskeeper that blew out his knee I will lose my mind…

On a brighter note for Tigers fans, the team went on to win 4-3 to sweep the surprising Giants in a 2012 World Series rematch. The Tigers improved their record to 37-20, the best mark in all of baseball.

Jackson Jobe struggled with three earned runs and seven hits in 4.2 innings of work, but the Detroit Tigers’ bullpen shut it down the rest of the way. Colt Keith’s two-run double in the bottom of the fifth inning got the rally going, with Justyn-Henry Malloy registering the game-deciding hit that plated two runs.
Detroit Tigers Keep On Rolling

After ending a 10-year postseason drought last year, the Tigers have proved that 2024 was no fluke. They got swept by the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers to open the 2025 season, but Detroit has gone on a 37-17 roll ever since.
The Tigers will look to continue their momentum when they begin a three-game weekend series against the Kansas City Royals on Friday.
