The Los Angeles Dodgers’ bullpen came under fire from fans following a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to the New York Mets. Despite Shohei Ohtani’s sac fly that led them to the extra innings, they were no match for the dominant Mets.
The defeat was sealed after left-handed reliever Tanner Scott faltered in the extra innings. The Mets took the lead and won the opener of their four-game series. The Mets struck early when Francisco Lindor launched a leadoff home run-off starter Dustin May. Shohei Ohtani went deep with a home run, and both teams’ pitchers kept the game tight.

Dave Roberts Reflects On Tanner Scott’s Performance And Dodgers’ Loss
In a postgame interview, manager Dave Roberts opened up on Tanner Scott’s performance. Roberts didn’t seem too pleased with the pitcher’s performance and the way he approached the strike zone.
“I think with Tanner, it’s just missed location, and I think that it’s, you know, you look at the Alvarez, the Lindor pitch was down, but it was middle, and I think it’s just sort of missing the big part of the play,” Dave Roberts said.
It’s a tough loss for the Boys in Blue, especially at Dodger Stadium. The team has been struggling to play against the Mets this season. The Mets swept the Dodgers in their last three-game series. The Mets are now ranked No. 2 in the week 10 MLB power rankings.
