The Los Angeles Dodgers are waiting for their night to end after suffering a humiliating loss against the Chicago Cubs. Dave Roberts and his team have never experienced a terrible loss as they did. In fact, the franchise has never had such a miserable loss at home.
The reigning World Series champions had a defensive shutdown after surrendering 16 runs. Offensively, the team’s bats were doing nothing but sleeping throughout the game. The Cubs handed over the team their worst home shutout loss in franchise history. They surpassed their previous loss to the Pirates in 1898, where they lost 15-0.
It was an embarrassing night for Dodgers fans, and it was so bad that they could not help but troll their own team. Many fans expressed frustration after this humiliating loss. Here’s a look at some fan reactions on X.
“Just needed 4 grand slams to tie the game!” one fan wrote.

Dodgers Relief Pitchers Fail To Back Roki Sasaki

Roki Sasaki had a rough couple of starts with the team. Sasaki made his third start for the team and was pretty strong on the mound. Sasaki threw five innings and surrendered only one home run. He struck out three, walked two, and gave up four hits.
The Dodgers’ relief pitching was a disaster. Ben Casparius gave up six earned runs in just 1.2 innings. Casparius surrendered seven hits, and the Cubs’ offense was too dominant. Luis Garcia could not hold it down after giving up four earned runs.
Miguel Rojas came in and surrendered five runs in 2.0 innings. It was a disaster and a night to forget for the Dodgers, who hope to rebound in the next game. Pitching has been an issue for several teams. The Yankees’ Marcus Stroman had a bad outing as well, which angered fans.
