The Los Angeles Dodgers’ injury nightmare on the mound continues. On Saturday, the team added right-hander pitcher Tony Gonsolin to their already long list of sidelined arms, further straining a rotation that has been under pressure all season.
The latest injury came after a five-inning outing earlier this week, where Gonsolin allowed three runs with six strikeouts. He was later diagnosed with right elbow discomfort and placed on the 15-day injured list. It’s yet another setback for a Dodgers staff already dealing with multiple key absences.
After a strong 8-0 start to the season, the Dodgers are now 30-27, and 15-17 over their last 32 games. Pitching has been a growing concern; the IL list tells the whole story.
Dodgers’ Injury List Keeps Growing

The Dodgers now have 14 pitchers on the IL, including key players Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow, Roki Sasaki, Gavin Stone, Emmet Sheehan, Evan Phillips, and Brusdar Graterol. Saturday’s addition only deepens the crisis.

The rotation has become a patchwork operation, with manager Dave Roberts juggling bullpen days and short starts just to get through games. LA’s team ERA, once among the league’s best, has slipped to 30th in MLB innings pitched, with a shaky 21st-ranked ERA in May.

To shuffle the roster, the Dodgers activated right-handers Michael Kopech and Kirby Yates from the injured list and designated Chris Stratton for assignment.
For now, the Dodgers are in survival mode. With their offense also struggling, their World Series hopes are being tested earlier than expected.
