The Los Angeles Dodgers are having a great run this season despite several players on the IL. The pitching staff is overflowing with injured players, but two prominent sluggers are nearing their return. Teoscar Hernandez and Tommy Edman have been on fire with their performance, and they are sure to come back soon.
Hernandez and Edman held impressive numbers before they were placed on the IL. The Dodgers Nation reported that both sluggers will remain on the IL for the weekend for now. Despite their injuries being minor at the beginning, it’s taking a while for them to recover. However, their return timeline is not too far away.
According to the latest update, Edman will not need a rehab assignment while Hernandez will need one before he’s activated. That said, the team’s $12.5 million star will face uncertainty upon their return.

Kim Hye-seong AKA “The Comet” signed a three-year $12.5 million deal with the Dodgers, and he’s doing a fantastic job in the absence of Edman and Hernandez. Kim is slashing .452/.485/.1.066 in just 31 at-bats. He has one home run, five RBIs, and three stolen bases.
Dodgers Will Be In A Tough Spot After Hernandez And Edman’s Return

Dave Roberts and his squad must choose to make space on their 40-man roster. It’s hard for the team to have Hernadez, Edman, and Kim in the lineup. At the same time, it’s tough to let go since all players have been incredible.

Edman and Hernadez will be given preference mostly since Kim is still not as experienced as both sluggers. Kim might be a backup option for the team. His future with the Dodgers is certainly strong, but the current team is pretty stacked.
The other members of the squad are the top performers. Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, and Shohei Ohtani are the top sluggers, while others like Max Muncy and Miguel Rojas are struggling. It’s hard for the Dodgers to part ways with their veteran stars. At present, they are filled with offensive players, and their pitching squad has taken a huge hit.
