Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani had an eventful 2024-25. He was the victim of theft in a scandal and then went on to win the World Series following what was a shocking betrayal.
The above must have jangled his nerves considerably, but perhaps not as much as the latest development in his life.
Ohtani and his wife, Mamiko Tanaka, have welcomed their first child, a girl, with the MLB standout confirming as much in an Instagram post.
On Saturday, the Dodgers pitcher and hitter took to Instagram to welcome his baby daughter and express gratitude for her arrival, admitting that both he and his wife were nervous and anxious.
“Welcome to the Ohtani family!” he wrote in the post. “I am so grateful to my loving wife who gave birth to our healthy beautiful baby daughter.
“To my daughter, thank you for making us very nervous yet super anxious parents.”

Ohtani also thanked the Dodgers organization, his teammates, and the team’s supporters for being there for him, as well as the medical professionals who helped make it a wonderful culmination of their pregnancy.
The 30-year-old was noticeably absent during the Dodgers’ series opener against the Texas Rangers on Friday, with manager Dave Roberts disclosing that he had been placed on the league’s paternity list.
TPS would like to congratulate Shohei Ohtani and his wife on their family extension. Of course, Dodgers fans will miss him while he’s away, but they all know it’s for the best cause possible.
