Yankee Stadium was packed with fans who were unhappy with the situation. The slugger was hit by an 88.8 mph changeup, which caused him pain. The Yankees quickly assessed Anthony Volpe on the field. Despite the injury, he stayed in to play defense during the third inning. However, his discomfort continued, and Oswald Peraza stepped in.
Volpe was removed from the game as a precautionary measure, and the severity of the injury will be determined through X-rays and CT scans.
