The Philadelphia Phillies are trying to make a few adjustments by strengthening their team. Recent rumors circulating on X claim that the club made a substantial trade offer to the Oakland Athletics for star closer Mason Miller.
Alex Coll, the producer of Sportsradio94, shared an update on social media about the trade proposal. According to the rumor, outfielder Justin Crawford, pitcher Mick Abel, and third baseman Alec Bohm were all part of the multiplayer deal for Miller. Coll also mentioned that the Athletics declined the offer.
Did The Phillies Make An Offer For Mason Miller?

MLB insider Ken Rosenthal mentioned that the Athletics inquired about Alec Bohm, and the Phillies responded by asking for Mason Miller. This request reportedly ended the conversation, as the Athletics were unwilling to part with their All-Star closer.
Being told the #Phillies made an offer for #Athletics P Mason Miller including OF Justin Crawford, P Mick Abel & 3B Alec Bohm. #Athletics declined. They are big fans of 5 year club control. Sheesh. pic.twitter.com/HzpVp7xyt6

There has been some approach and interest from both teams. However, there is no credible reporting that the team offered a package including Crawford, Abel, and Bohm for Miller. Neither the teams nor the MLB made a public statement on the same. The only substantiated report is that the club asked for Miller in a potential Bohm trade.

After Jose Alvarado’s suspension, the franchise has several loopholes to fill. They need to hire a closer to address their bullpen issues. Philadelphia is heading for the playoffs, and it’s time they address the missing link in their bullpen.
Kyle Finnegan has emerged as a top target for the team, and he could be the perfect pitcher. However, they still need to offer the Washington Nationals a valuable player in return for Finnegan.
The Phillies will not surrender Alec Bohm for Finnegan. They might part ways with other players, but there has not been any progress yet. Finnegan holds a 0-1 record with a 2.41 ERA. The pitcher threw 18.2 innings and recorded 17 strikeouts.
Philadelphia is at the top of the NL East with a 35-19 record. They also hold the second-best record in the majors. At present, they sit at the top of the MLB week 9 power rankings.
