In the wildest newsbreak around MLB, the Boston Red Sox pitcher Hunter Dobbins’ dad was drafted by the New York Yankees.
Really? No.
Dobbins, the promising right-handed pitcher for the Red Sox, recently stirred controversy ahead of his first start against the Yankees.
During an interview with the Boston Herald, Dobbins vehemently made an illegitimate claim.
“If the Yankees were the last team to give me a contract, I’d retire,” Dobbins told the Boston Herald.
According to him, his father is a “diehard Red Sox fan.” Though this was not the only jargon he had to share.

“He was actually drafted twice by the Yankees. Signed with them his last year and then he got traded over to the Diamondbacks,” Dobbins added.
However, despite these assertions, the news is not true. There were no official statements on the matter, either from the Yankees or any credible baseball insider.
Hunter Dobbins Takes Aaron Judge With Surprise For His Yankees Comment

In a recent game, Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge faced off against Red Sox rookie pitcher Hunter Dobbins.
Hunter was in the Judge’s crosshairs for openly declaring he would rather retire than play for the Yankees.
Judge took this rivalry to heart and hit a powerful solo home run against Dobbins in his first at-bat. The star right fielder sent the ball 436 feet at 108.6 mph to right-center field.
Additionally, Judge expressed surprise at Dobbins’ comments. He mentioned that he had only heard similar sentiments from Hall of Famer Ken Griffey during his playing days.
“I’ve only heard Ken Griffey say that, so I was a little surprised. Well, once somebody tells you, yeah,” Judge said.

Despite Judge’s home run, Dobbins ended up securing the win for the Red Sox and yielded three runs over five innings. While Yankees starter Carlos Rodón struggled, he allowed five runs in the same duration.
