The Boston Red Sox dropped their third straight game on Monday night, and once again, pitcher Walker Buehler was at the center of the storm. A shaky performance from Buehler turned a close game into a rout, drawing backlash from fans.
Buehler, who arrived from the Dodgers in the offseason, struggled with control early, walking seven batters and allowing five earned runs in just four innings. Meanwhile, the Red Sox offense pulled off a brief 3-0 lead in the first, but couldn’t hold on and lost 9-5.

Walker Buehler’s Struggle Continues

After showing flashes early in the year, Buehler has taken a sharp step back. His ERA has climbed, his walk rate is up, and Monday’s outing only added to the concern. In his last five outings, Walker Buehler pitched just 19 innings, allowing 33 hits, 26 earned runs, and issuing 13 walks.
Social media was flooded with frustration, with Red Sox fans demanding Buehler’s trade.

Earlier this season, Walker Buehler didn’t shy away from admitting his struggles.
“It’s embarrassing,” he said. “It’s just not who I want to be as a baseball player.”
Talking about the game, the Red Sox jumped out to an early lead thanks to a Trevor Story solo shot and some aggressive base running. But the momentum didn’t last. The Angels chipped away, then broke the game open with a four-run eighth inning that put things out of reach.
The series will continue on Tuesday at the Angel Stadium.
