MLB fans are in stitches after a New York Yankees fan made the catch of a lifetime in the stands…while being blindfolded by his daughter.
We’ve seen many wild instances of fans fetching baseballs that go out of play. You’ve probably seen the clips of spectators using their beer cups to catch a ball, or an occasion where the same fan caught two balls in the same game (this happened just a few weeks ago at Fenway Park, by the way).
But what we saw during the New York Yankees’ Saturday afternoon home game against the Tampa Bay Rays oughta be shown on highlight reels for years to come:

“Better fielder than judge,” another quipped, referencing Aaron Judge’s costly error in Game 5 of last year’s World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Rays went on to rally in the eighth inning for a 3-2 comeback win over their AL East rivals, evening the three-game set at one apiece. The rubber match is set for 1:35 p.m. EST on Sunday, with Taj Bradley and Will Warren set to pitch for the Rays and Yankees, respectively.
New York Yankees Sit Atop The AL East

Despite the Yankees’ frustrating loss to Tampa Bay on Sunday, they still sit atop the AL East with a 19-14 record. They’re 1.5 up on the Boston Red Sox, pending the outcome of their Saturday contest with the Minnesota Twins.
New York is up three games on the struggling Toronto Blue Jays (16-17), who are third in the AL East. It’s early, but it already looks like this division is down to the Pinstripes and BoSox, just like old times.
