Kodai Senga’s 2025 season has been nothing short of dominant. Yet, the New York Mets ace was omitted from MLB’s latest National League Cy Young Award poll. MLB shared an image of the Cy Young Poll chosen by a panel of experts. Topping the list was Pittsburgh Pirates star Paul Skenes.
The league captioned the post stating that Skenes is looking to add the NL Cy Young to his already impressive resume. Following Skenes were Phillies star Zach Wheeler, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Logan Webb, and Mackenzie Gore. However, Senga was off the list, and fans were upset.

Kodai Senga Continues To Show Dominance For The Mets
Senga has been the bright spot for the Mets, helping them win in crucial games. The Mets pitcher has a 6-3 record, but he holds a stellar 1.59 ERA. In 68 innings pitched, Senga has 65 Ks with a spectacular 1.18 WHIP. He also leads the NL in ERA.
The Mets hold the best ERA in the league (2.86). Senga has contributed significantly to the team’s strong ERA. With a strong pitching rotation, the Mets are huge favorites to make it to the World Series.
Kodai Senga has plenty of time to get on the list of possible Cy Young candidates. For now, the Mets are second in their week 11 MLB power rankings.
