One team that is benefiting from Major League Baseball possibly having to move their opening day further out in the year are the Houston Astros who were just getting a minor display of what they will be dealing with for 81 road games in 2020.
Then the coronavirus came in and basically gave all the players a much needed break from being disliked.
That was until the Twitter account ‘2020 Astros Shame Tour’ posted a clip from the World Series last season that showed Nationals broadcaster Dave Jageler was hinting towards the Astros possibly stealing signs.
“And now Gomes is going to use a mound visit here, and Turner’s gonna come in. They’re gonna change their sequence of signs, make sure they’re on the same page. Even with nobody on or a runner at first, the Nationals are worried about any sort of shenanigans relative to the other side trying to steal signs. And that’s not the pitch-tipping that Stephen Strasburg talked about yesterday … the Nationals are worried about someone intercepting their signals. So, they may have switched it up, considering the lack of strikeouts, they may be on to something.”
Pretty impressive that the Nationals were likely on to them and made the adjustments to make sure they came out victorious anyway.
