Roman Anthony’s bat is making plenty of noise in Worcester, but somehow, he is still not wearing a Red Sox uniform. The 21-year-old outfielder crushed a 497-foot grand slam on Saturday, the longest home run hit in affiliated baseball this season, and fans have officially had enough.
Anthony went 2-for-4 in that game against Rochester and now owns a .290 batting average with 10 home runs, 29 RBIs, and a .916 OPS in 57 Triple-A games this year. He’s also showing impressive plate discipline, walking nearly 19% of the time while striking out just over 21%.

Meanwhile, the Red Sox offense continues to flounder. Boston has dropped to 30-35 on the season, sitting in fourth place in the AL East and struggling to score consistently. With the team looking for any kind of spark, fans are wondering why their top-hitting prospect hasn’t been promoted.
Fans Blast Red Sox For Not Calling Up Anthony

The latest monster blast only fueled growing calls for Anthony’s MLB debut. Fans on social media let their feelings be known loud and clear:
“He’s going to remember the way they’ve treated him,” one fan wrote.

The Red Sox front office has been cautious with their top prospects this year, but with Anthony clearly dominating Triple-A pitching, the decision to keep him down grows harder to defend. In a season where Boston’s postseason hopes are already fading, a call-up could offer more than just a bat. It could reignite the fanbase.
