Jasson Dominguez is having a May to remember.
The 22-year-old outfielder recently made baseball history. He became the first player ever to hit three home runs in a game, a homer from both sides of the plate in a single game. Additionally, he smashed a grand slam and nailed a walk-off home run, all in one month.
According to Opta Stats, Dominguez has pulled off what no one else has done in MLB before. And it’s safe to say fans are buzzing about what ‘The Martian’ can do on the field.
Dominguez’s incredible month kicked off on May 10, when he impressed the Yankee fans with a stunning performance against the Oakland Athletics. In that game, he hit three homers, two while batting left and one from the right side, including an exhilarating grand slam.

On May 22, he hit his first career walk-off home run at Yankee Stadium, marking the first walk-off homer for the Yankees since September 20, 2022. Jasson ended a 974-day period without such a homer for the team.
At just 22 years old, Dominguez is stepping up as a key player for the Yankees, who currently hold a 30-19 record and a five-game lead in the American League East.

Jasson Dominguez Is Having An Impressive Season So Far Despite TJ Surgery

While his unique feat comes in the current month, Jasson Dominguez is having an impressive season so far. He is holding a slash line of .236/.333/.429 with six home runs and 22 RBIs across 162 plate appearances.
Fans were eagerly waiting for his big league debut, which came in September 2023, and he didn’t disappoint. The young gun posted an eye-catching .980 OPS in just 33 trips to the plate.
However, his promising start was cut short by Tommy John surgery, which temporarily halted his exciting trajectory.
After his surgery, Dominguez faced a tough road back. He sustained an oblique strain while playing for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last June, which kept him sidelined longer than he had hoped.

When he returned to the Yankees, it wasn’t smooth sailing either. He struggled in the latter part of the 2024 season with a .617 OPS over 18 games and 67 plate appearances. He did make an appearance in the playoffs, but unfortunately, he didn’t get a chance to swing the bat in any of those games.
Now that he’s healthy and starting to find his groove again, fans are starting to see the real Dominguez shine through. He’s being looked at as a key player for the New York Yankees, and there’s a lot of excitement about his future in the big leagues.
