Jazz Chisholm Jr. recently hit the headlines after his actions in the last couple of days. The Yankees star is having a great season after getting off to a strong start. He’s been excellent at the plate, and his defensive skills at second base come naturally.
While the Bronx Bombers are making the best of Chisholm, they need to put up with all his emotions. Chisholm is an emotional player, and he never stays put from expressing. The slugger was tossed for arguing with the umpire, but was suspended for his actions during the game. The MLB has a strict policy for players not to use their cell phones during games.
Jazz Chisholm didn’t care much as he tweeted about the umpire’s call on X. The league suspended him for one game, and several have called him out, including former Marlins President David Samson.
“You do not have the right to violate the rules of your employer and then hide under the Constitution. That’s not a freedom of speech that you have. Your constitutional protection does not apply to tweeting from the clubhouse. It doesn’t apply to violating the rule that major league baseball has against public statements,” Samson said.
The former Marlins President further stated that people continue to misapply constitutional rights because of a thought. Samson said that Chisholm tried to hide behind freedom of speech.

Chisholm had an unforgettable play against the Cleveland Guardians when Brayan Rocchio’s broken bat flew towards him. While Chisholm had a chance to catch the ball, he chose not to as he was more concerned about the broken bat.
Rocchio’s hit turned into an RBI single that eventually helped the Guardians to win (6-4). After the game, Chisholm opened up on the situation.
“I want to make every play out there for my guy, but at the same time, you don’t want to die. You got a sharp object coming your way. I’ve seen guys get stabbed with broken bats in person, so I know how bad the injury can be. The toughest thing to do as a baseball player right now is to stay on the field,” Jazz Chisholm Jr. said via New York Sports.
Chisholm and the Yankees are on a strong run, but still need backup. The good news is that injured players are expected to return to the team soon.
