Jazz Chisholm Jr. made a powerful statement both on and off the field during the Yankees’ 9-6 win over the Boston Red Sox on Friday night at Yankee Stadium. The dynamic infielder went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer, an RBI single, and two stolen bases, leading the Yankees to a commanding start in the latest chapter of their storied rivalry.
After the game, Chisholm emphasized the importance of defending home turf, stating, “Every time someone steps in our house we gotta show them why we’re the Yankees and why this is Yankee Stadium.”

The Yankees capitalized early, scoring five runs in the first inning and two more in the second, all with two outs. Anthony Volpe added a two-run homer but later exited due to an elbow contusion from a hit-by-pitch. Paul Goldschmidt also contributed with a solo homer. Despite a late rally by the Red Sox, including home runs from Marcelo Mayer and Rafael Devers, the Yankees held on for the win.
Chisholm’s “Controlled Approach” Reason Behind Recent Success

Since returning from a strained oblique on June 3, Chisholm has been on a tear, hitting .500 (8-for-16) with two homers, six RBIs, and three stolen bases over four games. His season stats now stand at a .223 batting average, nine home runs, 23 RBIs, and nine stolen bases, with an OPS of .797.
Chisholm attributes his recent success to a more controlled approach, stating, “I trusted myself not to overswing 70%, and the ball still goes.“
