Jazz Chisholm Jr. is having a blast with the New York Yankees after getting to a strong start. Chisholm has stepped up his performance for the team with a stronger approach. Chisholm smashed 11 home runs in the second half of the 2024 season with the Yanks. This season, he’s already hit six home runs and counting.
A part of Chisholm’s success is coming in after he made a wager with Aaron Judge. During spring training, Chisholm and Judge made a wager to see who would hold better numbers in the 2025 season. While Judge took to a great start with six home runs, Chisholm was quick to catch up.
The slugger smashed his sixth home run against the Kansas City Royals, but he’s leading Judge in stolen bases. When asked about his wager in a postgame interview, Jazz Chisholm said he was going to beat the Yankees captain.
“Hey, you reminded me of that—I just got lost for a second. I gotta go talk to him right now. I think I’m beating him right now in stolen bases. I’m beating him—you gotta add both. You know how they say OPS is on-base plus slugging? Home runs plus stolen bases!” Chisholm said.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. was reminded about his promise in spring training to keep up with Aaron Judge in combined home runs and stolen bases:

“I told him I was going to catch him in stolen bases this year,” Aaron Judge said via the News Tribune.
Chisholm is great at stealing bases. He’s faster than the Yankees captain. Last season, Jazz Chisholm recorded 40 stolen bases. Out of those, 22 stolen bases were for the Miami Marlins and 18 for the Yankees.
Chisholm quickly emerged as a fan favorite in the Bronx. His character and energy are something that Yankee fans look forward to. Many agree that the team needs a player like Chisholm to break the ice. Likewise, if necessary, the slugger will not hold back from making his feelings known.
The Yankees are coming off a strong victory but dropped to the 12th spot in the MLB power rankings this week.
