Juan Soto finally broke the spell and hit his first home run at Citi Field. After a slow start, Soto got the groove, and he’s ready to bring the heat on. The slugger was stuck at three home runs for a long time. Soto was the only player to show up for the Mets’ offense.
The Mets lost against the Diamondbacks with a 4-2 final score. Both runs came in from Soto as he cracked back-to-back home runs. It was a memorable moment for the slugger to hit two home runs on the same day in Queens.
After the game, the All-Star appeared in a postgame interview and shut down reporters who asked him about the pressure. When asked if his two home runs had lifted a weight off his shoulders, Soto dismissed the notion with confidence.
“I mean, what pressure? I don’t have any pressure. These guys and Carlos Mendoza has been really clear with me to make me feel comfortable to go out there and play. I don’t have any pressure and also those two homers, that wasn’t enough to get the win, whatever,” Soto said.

Soto is just starting off, and he has five home runs in one month. Many might think of it as a slow start, but he has plenty of time to easily reach 40 home runs.

Soto was the only player who was productive at the plate. Despite two home runs, the Mets failed to win against the Diamondbacks. The D’backs did well in maintaining their lead as their offense dominated.
Defensively, Zac Gallen had a great game, helping his team win. Gallen was the player of the game after throwing six innings and recording eight strikeouts. The Mets were dominated by the pitcher and handed over their second-straight loss.
Soto has picked up the pace, and Mets fans could expect more home runs coming in. Recently, Mets owner Steve Cohen touched upon Juan Soto’s slow start.
