“To me, if I’m the Tigers and I’ve got the best pitcher in baseball, I want that mother f***** out there as long as possible. Ride that horse. Hell yeah. That’s the way I felt about it when I was pitching. They’re like, ‘You’re our guy, we want you every fifth day.’ They would skip the fifth starter. We have an extra off days, and it’s like, ‘Hey, how you feeling? I feel good. It was fine, it was great, and it was awesome. And I loved it,” Justin Verlander said via The Athletic.
The pitcher also said that Skubal’s performance was eye-opening, and he became a huge fan of Skubal. Verlander also went out to meet Skubal and congratulate him on his excellent performance.
Justin Verlander Faces Trouble With Velocity

Verlander’s start to the 2025 season turned out to be bad. He holds a 0-3 record with a 4.33 ERA. It’s been tough for the pitcher with the Giants, and he has just six months to prove his worth. However, injuries have made things worse, forcing him to be on the IL.
To make things worse, Verlander’s velocity has dipped, and many are doubting the pitcher’s future. Rumors are that Verlander is struggling with arm fatigue, and things are going a little slow at the moment.
