Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy has finally broken his silence about an ugly heckling incident that took place in April at Wrigley Field, and his message is loud and clear.
After a loss to the Cubs, Muncy was boarding the team bus when a fan yelled:
“You suck! I’m gonna fight you! **** you!”
Weeks later, Muncy opened up about the situation during an appearance on the Foul Territory podcast, and he made it about more than just trash talk.
“Hate me all you want. Say whatever you want to say,” Muncy said. “But let’s keep it a little bit clean. There were a lot of kids out there… they looked scared and terrified.”

Muncy didn’t back down from the fan’s comments but urged fans to set a good example in front of kids.

Slow Start For Max Muncy In 2025

So far this season, Muncy is batting .205 with three home runs and 21 RBIs across 161 at-bats.
Defensively, things haven’t been much better. Muncy ranks in the 2nd percentile in Outs Above Average, highlighting his struggles at third base, something even he admitted earlier this month, saying he needs to “own it” and “do better” for the team.
It’s been a slow start at the plate, but the 33-year-old remains a veteran presence in the Dodgers’ lineup and clubhouse.
